Hi,

I have format and build a raid1 for three times at least, and always happen the same issue. When i start to upload from local machine to FTP, something goes wrong.. And I dont know what's happening..

Here there is an image of the errors, all times ACHI timeouts..

Image

This ada1 is a two years old and the another disk (ada0) is a new WD Red NAS 1TB.

I have been searching about and I see thats problem could be than this HDD could be damaged. But i have tried some tests on my laptop and it seems ok.

To can reboot i have to do a hard reset, and then i go to bios setup and it dont recognizes this disk, in fact, when start webgui this raid1 is degraded.

I have configured both as ACHI mode.

Someone can help me?

Thanks.

I have simmilar problems in the past, and the problem was:
SATA Cable one time
External case enclosure other time.

Please change SATA cable for one new more short and that have a metalic retention clip.

if still fails, confirm that is connected directly to SATA and do not use rapid cases to hot estract from PC case..

Hi raul,

I have dissarm my microserver and reconnect all the sata cables, the new disk was on the first bay, and the old on the second, and I have changed the order, the new on the second and the old on the first. After transferring again, it stopped again, and after hard reset, the first is missing (old disk), the same (the second before) is missing. I can see that the old is about 300MB/s write speed and new is 3GB/s. Only have to be the same size or should be identical drives? I think than this disk is damaged but with special software any error disk cant be detected on my laptop.. I will buy an indentical disk and try again.

Thanks.

I remember a special BIOS for old Proliant 36, perhaps yours need same hacked BIOS .

PD: Hacked BIOS enable best AHCI and SATA 300 that normally is limited to SATA 150 in old HP36, please google a bit if perhaps is what you need: http://www.avforums.com/threads/hp-n36l ... t.1521657/
