There is wrong ID in the disk of config...
I have updated to revision 344 and in the Disks/Management windows i get the "There is wrong ID in the disk of config. Please remove the disk and re-add it or use 'clear and import'." mesage. What does it mean, and how can resolve it?

Sorry I can't see your image.
The message indicate that your Serial number of some disk are wrong assingned.
Please save your config ( to restore in case somethings goes wrong).
And push the clear and import button, only info about your disk can change, no your data or your shares, only info show in Disk | Info.

Re: There is wrong ID in the disk of config...
You don't lose data.
Data are safe in your ZFS pool and can only by lose if you detach disks or you recreate your pool ( that is not the case), you are only import your disk so Nas4Free can recognize and interrogate it to know serial number or temp.

Re: There is wrong ID in the disk of config...
Hi
I am getting the same problem with the same error message. I have saved the config file and restored just in case.
What I am concerned about, after clearing re-importing the disks, is when I go to the format screen it is reporting the wrong disks. Obviously, I am extremely uncomfortable formatting anything when the disks being reported are incorrect.
Having hunted around in there forums, quite a few links are broken for adjusting config file and so on - can anyone steer me in the right direction on how to get the config file sorted?
Many thanks in anticipation - help had been gratefully received in the past!

Re: There is wrong ID in the disk of config...
use new button Clear Config & import Disk, to solve your problem, it's safe and do not lose data.
once done, reboot your NAS and try to format disk, this time must be correct asignation.

Re: There is wrong ID in the disk of config...
Many thanks raulfg3 - yes, I had completed the steps that you mentioned ahead of posting. Interestingly (or annoyingly!) I discovered that it works fine with a Hitachi disk yet, a maxtor disk is making a mess of things. I am going to try presenting the disks in a different order when I get a chance in the next few days to see if it that makes a difference.
I tried altering the config file in an xml editor last night too but didn't get the desired results. This is probably much more to do with not understanding what I should be doing and not being a linux guru! I will keep this thread updated with my findings. Any help on the config file would be appreciated (other threads links on this forum seem to be broken).
Again - appreciate your help.

Re: There is wrong ID in the disk of config...
OK - I have tried a number of times to change the order of presentation of the disks. I have got the disks all registering correctly with the system (although they are now in the wrong order of ad0,1 etc). The problem still remains after clearing config, reboots etc that the wrong disks are reported on the format screen. I have no plans to format anything unless I am confident that I am formatting the correct disks! Can anyone help me to
a) Get the correct reporting of physical disks in the format menu and
b) Restore my confidence that a format will be on the right disk!
Is there some good knowledge on altering the config file that someone could point me to?
Cheers!
