Hi, can NAS4Free do nested ZFS Datasets? I saw somewhere that CIFS shares can't support this? But maybe that's the wrong question?
* Couldn't see anything in ZFS/Datasets/Datasets dialogues.
* Tried "moving" the Dataset using Quix, but that didn't work and was likely wrong anyway.
That "other product" seems to allow this; however for other reasons I "came back". (I've been using "7" for a couple of years quite happily, and like what I've found very much in NAS4Free.)
Thanks,
John

Re: Nested ZFS Datasets?
[CORRECTION]
You can do it from the gui. You just need to enter the path in the "name field." So, I have a pool named zpool1, and i choose to add a dataset called "tank." Simple enough. To create the nested dataset, I create another called "tank/video". This will create the video dataset within the tank dataset.
I have no idea about CIFS. From the initial Googling, it seems you are right that CIFS doesn't like it, but I don't have the time to test it.
