I recently added a new ZFS pool and I want to know what is the correct way to move an existing ZFS volume to the new pool?

I don't think you can. A volume is an entity like a dataset that is unique to the pool. My guess is you need to create the volume on the new pool, then copy the data. You may be able to do that with a snapshot send/recieve between the pools to make it faster.
