How to Disable ZFS Scrubbing

Post by mzeb »

Hey All,
I'm using nas4free to back up my macbook air and I'm running into an issue where every so often my backup verification fails and I have to recreate it. A little research https://discussions.apple.com/thread/42 ... 5&tstart=0 and http://www.garth.org/archives/2011,08,2 ... rrors.html led me to believe that scrubbing while time machine was happening was the issue. So my question is how do I disable scrubbing for a specific pool? If there's another way I'm all for that too. Thanks!

I didn't think it scrubbed automatically? You can check the last time a scrub was ran under Disks|ZFS|Pools|Information and scan: should say the last time the pool was scrubbed.

Also that makes zero sense for a scrub to cause corruption as the only thing it should do is case performance issues. It is just going through and verifying the integrity of the data.

There is NO auto scrub. Only those initiated by user.
