Importing ZFS Pool

Post by cls33 »

Ok, this is probably a very basic question, but I want to be 110% sure I get this right and don't corrupt my existing data.

I'm attempting to migrate my 5.5TB ZFS storage array from an OpenSolaris OS to a NAS4Free build. I have NAS4Free installed on a USB key and booting successfully, I just need a bit of help figuring out how to import my existing array without any data loss.

If I log in via SSH and issue a "zfs import" I can see my array, but if I attempt to manage it through the UI... I don't even see my disks.

I'm guessing I need to import the disks via the disk management UI and then I will be allowed to import the pool via the UI... but I don't want to do anything without knowing what I'm doing is correct. So can someone give me some reassurance or (even better) a step-by-step?

Thanks!

go to Disks > ZFS > Configuration > Synchronize and click the Synchronize button.
it is designed to solve problems that occurs importing from other OS like your problem.
Nas4Free 11.1.0.4.4517. Supermicro X10SLL-F, 16gb ECC, i3 4130, IBM M1015 with IT firmware. 4x 3tb WD Red, 4x 2TB Samsung F4, both GEOM AES 256 encrypted.
