How to delete RAIDZ2

Post by tynolol »

Hello everyone,

I created two RAIDZ2 called "Time_Machine" and "NAS RAIDZ2" and I would like to delete one of them called "NAS RAIDZ2" but I don't know how to delete it. When I go in menu Disk-->ZFS-->pool-->virtual device there is only one of the both which appear (called Time Machine), but the other one doesn't appear. Furthermore when I go in menu Disk-->ZFS-->configuration-->detected the both are listed.

What does it means? Is the RAIDZ2 already deleted or is it still present?

Thank you

give us some more information.

what have you done so that the pool is unavailable?
do you a full or an embedded install?
have you restarted the system?

I have a full install (the last one).

I reinstall nas4free recently because of these problem without restore a backup config (I restarted from a clean system) :

viewtopic.php?f=65&t=6730&p=38615#p38615

I restarted system several times and to delete the pool I tryed to format the HDDs of these pool (but the pool was already not listed in pool menu, that's why I tryed to delete it)

zpool destroy NAS
from the command line

i would advise you to use the embedded install rather than the full.
on an embedded install you would not have had the problem.

there is no question that you should use the embedded install.

Yes, it is that easy. You can unplug your data drives while reinstalling as an added safety.
11.2-RELEASE-p3 | ZFS Mirror - 2 x 8TB WD Red | 28GB ECC Ram
HP ML10v2 x64-embedded on Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4150 CPU @ 3.50GHz

Extra memory so I can host a couple VMs
1) Unifi Controller on Ubuntu
2) Librenms on Ubuntu
