Hi all,

A while ago I had a dead drive an I've replaced it. I remember that the array wen from Degraded to Online. However, now it's Degraded:

Pool information and status
pool: Data
state: DEGRADED
status: One or more devices has been removed by the administrator.
Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue functioning in a
degraded state.
action: Online the device using 'zpool online' or replace the device with
'zpool replace'.
scan: scrub repaired 0 in 8h0m with 0 errors on Sun Aug 24 08:00:54 2014
config:

NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
Data DEGRADED 0 0 0
raidz1-0 DEGRADED 0 0 0
1758043365014864012 REMOVED 0 0 0 was /dev/ada0.nop
ada1.nop ONLINE 0 0 0
ada2.nop ONLINE 0 0 0
ada3.nop ONLINE 0 0 0
ada4.nop ONLINE 0 0 0
ada5.nop ONLINE 0 0 0

errors: No known data errors

How do I get rid of the ghost drive?

Thanks

As far as I remember, I used the GUI. I think it was zfs replace.

what drive has failed? was is ada0 ?

normally a drive says removed if you have used the remove command and not the replace command.

Wait, I've just noticed that the array has only 5 hdds instead of 6. Going to check this...

LOL

I've just lost another hdd.
All array is seagate 7200.14. I bought them all in May 2013. The first died in July or June, now the second. Seems like 7200.14 is not that good for RAID...
