Rookie mistake...
I had the variable value as "jail_enable=yes" as opposed to just "YES"
ie; "jail_enable" is set to "YES" as opposed to "jail_enable" was set to "jail_enable=yes"
Stupid is as stupid does.

This mean that now works?
PD: Sorry I revise old post and you say exactly that you use jail_enable=yes like value, but is as strange that I really do not understand and think that really do you use "YES" as value.

I just noticed this error. There is no need to do this. The jail_enable variable is read in from your rc.conf.local file. No need to put it in two places.

Works great now. Just a silly mistake.
However, minidlna multicast detection time is going to be an issue. My children are not going to be able to wait that long before they can watch Kung Fu Panda.
Excellent learning experience overall.

Since minidlna can't receive solicitations inside the jail, you need to increase the frequency of minidlna's advertisements.
The multicast problem will not go away until Nas4Free incorporates the fully virtualized network stack (requires some different kernel options to be implemented).

Hay Guys,
I finnaly got my nas working last night and was able to use my newley created Serviio Jail, when suddenly i was hit with a small power cut....... now i am having the same problem as these guys
viewtopic.php?f=57&t=1088
I just wanted to ask if i do this...
But what you will do is this
unplug all hard drives so your machine boots..apart from the boot drive ..hopefully it will boot..if it does not ..I do not know
BUT ..if it does boot , then go to the webgui and the System|Backup Restore Tab.
Download your configuration.
Now shut down, add new hard drive and re install NAS4Free from CD.
re boot once installed and then go to backup restore tab and restore the config you previously saved
Shut down, and add your storage drives
Do them one at a time., re boot between each one
Will i lose my jails and have to start all over?
i hope not as Serviio takes a hell of a long time to install.
Thanks

As long as you don't reformat the drive or anything, you will not lose data. If you use the provided steps, with the reboot in between drive adds, you should be fine. However, I would recommend disabling the jail_start Postinit script until you get all the drives successfully added.
How about starting a new thread for your woes?
