panic during boot

Post by simonq »

Hello,

After the power failure, server is experiencing panic during boot. Probably messed filestructure on usb.

The embedeed N4F 10 version is on separate usb stick. I've tried to connect the stick to other FreeBSD system to get the config file or repair filesystem with no luck. fsck gives strange responses about media not ready etc.

After embedded install, how should default layout of USB disk look like ? How many partitions what types?

Thanks

It depends on how you installed it, usually 3 partitions if you have a swap partition.

Easiest way is to create a new boot stick and restore a backed up config file.
A UPS also helps to prevent these kind of failures.
