QLogic 8442 10GbE Converged Ethernet Adapter support

Post by selulven »

I'm putting together a hardware list for a SAN server, and I was looking at 10 GbE NICs when I found the QLogic 8442 at a very affordable price. However, when I look at the FreeBSD compatibility list, only QLogic NetXtreme adapters are listed (which seem to be Broadcom based), so I was wondering if anyone has tried the QLogic 8400 series (or 3400 series) with FreeBSD/NAS4Free?

By "nothing doing", do you mean it didn't work?
It wasn't picked up by FreeBSD as an HBA? It seems this model wouldn't expose itself as a NIC, but knowing that QLogic isn't supported on the HBA side is valuable as well, if that's what you mean.
