NAS4free & openvswitch

Hi,

Has someone ever expenrienced openvswitch to manage VMs network ?
I've tried it on centOS and it works fine. How about Nas4free ?

But is it something working on Nas4free ?

I'd like to see such an implementation, too. It would be very useful to integrate nas4free with an OpenStack deployment for backup purposes.

Ok, my personnnal aim is to manage VM's VLAN easy.

You mean putting each tenant into a dedicated VLAN ?

If "tenant" = VM, then yes.

I installed centOS and Nas4free in a VM + the other VMs.
Things have worked fine so far, even better than before for Nas4Free, as the host has very good hardware and the computer that was dedicated to N4F was not very good.

I was thinking about vm=client with one or more VM.

Anyway, your implementation makes use of OVS to effectively segregate your traffic between n4f and your LAN. Pretty nice, but I wonder if GRE tunnels aren't better because with VLAN you need to set up membership on each side but not with GRE.
