As said, I have been successful with "reinstalling and restoring the config", so I am all set.
Yeah, the boot order advice sounds reasonable, but I have never seen this unless I have changed something in the hardware configuration. And doesn't the FreeBSD prompt indicate, that it actually booted from the USB stick? The two other disks are ZFS with not boot partition.
Thanks for your responses.

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.2268 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P9)
This is regarding putting the disks to sleep and a lot of arp traffic from the nas.
I'm using embedded with a usb drive for the embedded and data with 4 seperate drives for the nas portion formatted as ufs and all indidvidual.
When the nas is left alone with no activity they never go to standby ( the four individual nas drives) (set to 10 mins) but when I use filezilla to connect using ftp and copy files off the usb embedded / data disk where I store downloaded bittorrents then after 10 mins plus the nas drives will go to standby.
The only strange thing I have found is that the nas will flood the internal lan with arp requests going through all 255 possible network ips's about every one minute. Is this can this be why the four drives won't standby? Why so much arp traffic?
Greg

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.2268 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P9)
Got some strange behaviour going from 2118 to 2268.
I have encrypted drives, I attached them in the GUI no problem, I usually execute a /etc/rc.d/zfs stop from the command interface in the GUI... wait a few seconds... then do /etc/rc.d/zfs start and all things ZFS start working.
Well this time the WebGUI just hung (looping like it was trying to refresh), i logged into the console.... nothing there, disks mounted fine...then no more info... so i reboot and it says it cannot delete the .eli files/containers or clear the tmp directory. Eventually it did but I'm assuming some process got stuck somewhere.
Has the behaviour in this version changed anything to do with this?
Now I realise in the release notes it says to resync your ZFS, but i haven't had to do this on previous upgrades...
But for the future under synchronise what options do most people use? The two that are ticked by default?

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.2268 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P9)
I do not know whether it is a random error, but yesterday happened to me this problem:
I enable syslog and WebGui not responding
Then I make ssh to server and try
/etc/rc.d/lighttpd restart
----------------------------------------------------------
Performing sanity check on lighttpd configuration:
Syntax OK
Stopping lighttpd.
Waiting for PIDS: 93919.
failed to load external entity "/conf/config.xml"

----------------------------------------------------------
"ls" shows nothing
nas-master: /conf# ls

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.2268 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P9)
Additional info:
Sometimes when I make any changes in webgui (add SMB share, NFS share, enable/disable any value...) webgui stops responding. All other operating normally. SSH to both NODEs is possible. I noticed, that directory /conf (on HAST master) is empty. Before operation full, after operation empty...
nas-master: conf# ls -l
total 0
After 3-4 days I try connect to both nodes. Webgui on both nodes works !
I check /conf dir and both /conf dirs are full...
Reported on irc and info was send by zoon to daisuke.
This was reflected to version 10.2.0.2.2535.
Today I disabled in 10.2.0.2.2545 "System-Advanced-Zeroconf/Bonjour" and problem persist.
