Hello,
First, thank you to all of those who make the nas4free project a reality! I am on nas4free 9.1 (sandstorm) embedded, and currently have a zfs setup with raidz2. Everything is working well, but I would like to upgrade and switch the hdds to a new machine. I have backed up the nas4free config file, and everything is backed up in case of total catastrophe, but I would like to prevent that catastrophe if possible. Can anybody direct me to a resource for the proper procedure for importing an existing zpool? Is there anything I need to do to prep the zpool/hdds prior to transfer? If so, I've always wondered about the procedure for nas4free install failure, what might that look like? Is it as easy as clicking import disks on the disk management page?
As a second question, is it even recommended to upgrade? Although I generally subscribe to the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality, I'm switching boxes anyway so I figured this would be a good time to go ahead and upgrade the firmware as well. I'm assuming the config file for 9.1 will work for the 10.2 release as well, right? Is there anything else I might be missing?
Thank you for your time!

Re: upgrade questions 9.1-10.2
-Safe your config fileCan anybody direct me to a resource for the proper procedure for importing an existing zpool?
-Take a new USB drive and install the latest embedded version of N4F
-Import the previously saved config
- go to Disks | ZFS | Synchronize and synchronize your pool
That's it.
If anything goes wrong you can just plug in your 'old' 9.1 version...
Yes, because 9.1 are 'end of life' and is not supported anymore. As a second question, is it even recommended to upgrade?
If you feel comfortable with 10.2.x you can then upgrade your ZFS to v5000 via "zpool upgrade" but be aware that you can't downgrade it anymore.
