I know that this is unsecure, so please, no preaching.....
I have the latest N4F 64-bit embedded install. For many months, I have had a Samba share to access/view folders & files under N4F's root directory on both of my Windows 7 PCs. This has come in handy on a number of occasions, such as when I use a shortcut on my PC desktop to view N4F's system log (so I don't have to log on to the WebGUI, etc.).
Therefore, in Windows Explorer, when I clicked on the "root" share, all the folders appeared, and I could click on any one of them to access/view folders and files within.
However, in the last week or so, when I click on the root share, all the folders appear as usual, but I can't access any of them. When I click one, Windows now says that I don't have permission. I checked the folders, and all are set in N4F to be readable by anyone.
The interesting thing is if I set up a Samba share for any one of the folders under root, I can then access it and all folders/files within.
Any suggestions?

Re: [SOLVED] Can't access root share's folders in Samba
After doing several clean CD installs of earlier N4F versions, it appears the problem lies in the latest N4F release only (2268), which includes an upgrade to samba 4.2.7. There must be a bug in that version of samba.
