Hi,
All of a sudden I had a problem rebooting [halt at cursor] so I removed the USB disc connector,
removed the disc from disc manager and did an 'fsck -t ufs -y /dev/ufsid'
After several runs it seems the disc has some bad blocks etc
So, I took another HDD out of another box, added it, formatted it and can see and write to it.
However, N4F wont boot. If I unplug the disc, then boot, then plug in, then retry the mount point
error - the disc is there and is use able?
Have tried two different USB disc caddies and this will be the second disc I have tested.
Have tried different USB ports.
When added from running state there is no problem. When rebooted there is no boot up
just a flashing cursor?
Anyone seen anything like this?
EDIT: Somehow the BIOS had reset itself and box was trying to boot to USB [which is just storage]
