Cant seem to get WOL to work
I have set the WOL options in my BIOS to on (asrock h61/u3s3), as well as forwarded ports 7 and 9 in my router (netgear cg3000) and also tried all 3 options in NAS4Free LAN management for WOL (On/packet/broadcast)
But i cant get my light to stay on my NIC when the pc is turned off
I notice when it is doing the shutdown sequence that it does something like
alc0 status down which im assuming is telling the NIC to shutdown
am i correct in this?
Any advice?
Thanks

Re: Getting WOL to work
Anyone know how to correct this?
It is the only pc out of my 4 at home that i cant wake on lan. and arguably the most important
apparently the issue is fixed as per this thread
viewtopic.php?f=58&t=953&p=3080&hilit=wake+lan#p3080
but it doesnt seem so
Does WOL only work when the pc is in sleep mode or does it work when it is shut down (cant set to sleep in nas4free i think?)

Re: Getting WOL to work
How do you configure the network card to stay on after shutdown/sleep mode?
In windows, you right click network card in device manager and in properties make sure there is a tick in 'allow this device to wake computer'
What would be the equivalent in n4f (or freebsd?)
very noob at this but i know this is the only thing that is not set up, bios and router is all good

Re: Getting WOL to work
I may be chasing my own tail
I Have version 9.0.0.1 (revision 249)
Is the problem fixed in version 9.1.x.x ? rev 246 or 9.0.0.1 rev 246 ? a bit confused

Re: Getting WOL to work
I didn't do anything in n4f. It just didn't work in 9.0, and it just works in 9.1 without any my efforts.
