I have established that my vspehre-server uses an iSCSI-target as a datastore.
At the moment this works over the one and only NIC at both machines.
Now I have added a second NIC on the vSphere-server, for the NAS4Free-machine I have the built-in Realtek-NIC in addition to a Intel-NIC.
This second NIC now has the name OPT1 and the IP 10.0.0.1 assigned.
Is it a good idea to route the iSCSI-traffic through separate NIC and an exclusive cable ?
How do I configure iSCSI for the second NIC ? So far , I found only something with 127.0.0.1 in the iSCSI-parts.
can someone help me ?

Re: iscsi via separate NIC
It's not only good idea, it's preferred solution, that's called multi path.
