Help to mount zfs dataset in owncloud in Brig Jail

Post by slaycock »

I've read around and cannot find how to do mount a zfs dataset so that I can access it from OwnCLoud.
My data is in

/MyPool/MyDataset

Owncloud is installed in a 'The Brig' Jail at

/MyPool/BrigDataset/BrigHome/OwnCloudJail

I have created a directory

/MyPool/BrigDataset/BrigHome/OwnCLoudJail/mnt/MyDatasetInJail

I have tried using both the fstab editor

Device =/MyPool/BrigDataset/BrigHome/OwnCloudJail
Mount point =/MyPool/BrigDataset/BrigHome/OwnCLoudJail/mnt/MyDatasetInJail
File system = zfs
Option = nullfs rw 0 0
dumpfreq = <empty>
fsck = <empty

and the zfs dataset mounted to jail option

Enable Mount zfs dataset = ticked

dataset = /MyPool/BrigDataset
Jail's mount point =/MyPool/BrigDataset/BrigHome/OwnCloudJail/mnt/MyDatasetInJail

Neither seem to produce anything in owncloud and worse, using the zfs option leads to the owncloud jail not being able to start.

I'd greatly appreciate some help here.

Decvice=/MyPool/BrigDataset/BrigHome/OwnCloudJail

MountPoint=/MyPool/BrigDataset/BrigHome/OwnCLoudJail/mnt/MyDatasetInJail

TheBrig|Jail|Edit|OwnCloudJail

fstab for current jail

Code: Select all

Thanks for that. Unfortunately when I add

/MyPool/MyDataset /MyPool/BrigDataset/BrigHome/OwnCLoudJail/mnt/MyDatasetInJail nullfs rw 0 0

with the paths updated for the actual names on my system the owncloud jail does not start. I've tried with a new Owncloud jail, with a new brig and owncloud jail and a fresh Nas4free, brig and owncloud jail to no avail.

Then I kicked myself for all the time I've spent getting to understand how to install the brig and owncloud to install in a jail as I remembered I recently changed broadband providers (in the UK) from BT to Zen and Zen allocate me a fixed IP.

Five minutes with Portable WinSCP and I was able to do exactly what I've been trying to achieve with the brig and owncloud.

So for now thanks for the input but I'm sorted by alternative means.

in In Jail Allow try selecting allow.mount and allow.mount.devfs

Also select Enable mount devfs

And you could try desecting Enable mount zfs dataset
