upgrade from 9.x to 10.x => what hapens with ZFS version?

Post by foxdoismil »

I intend to upgrade 2 appliances from 9.1.0.1 full to 10.2 or 10.3 full

1) What will happen with the the ZFS pools? will they be kept as ZFS version 28? or will they be upgraded to version 5000?
2) What happens if I have to reinsert the old 9.1 boot hard disk? will the pools be downgraded back from 500 to 28?
3) Is there any risk of losing the data in that pool?
4) Dumb question: What is the purpose of Disks|ZFS|Configuration|Synchronize? Is it ill advised to press this button while the ZFS pool is still in degraded mode?
Thanks for the help

nothing, you must decide if you want/need to upgrade manually.

No, ZFS pool can't be downgraded, so you must decide if want to upgrade.

the pourpouse is to sync webGUI and reallity, is usefull, when you import a pool by cli, and need to update info on webGUI.

is NOT recommended to press while the ZFS pool is still in degraded mode
