Re: NAS4Free 10.3.0.3.2853 released (FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-P5)
I see, but my nas4free is running on headless remote server, so I would prefer something over ssh.. in 10.2 I was able restart the gui by the command above, but in 10.3 I only get the error result..

Re: NAS4Free 10.3.0.3.2853 released (FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-P5)
After about cca 12 hours uptime of the new 10.3 release, my samba share are not accessible, web gui is not accessible. On the other hand syncthing is still running and I can still ssh into the box.
Something is wrong here, how can I help you identify the bugs?

in my case SSH stopped working as well...
Same question here, how can i help to identify the bugs! I try to get to the logs when i'm at home, fortunately i store them on a persistent partition.

Spy0r and urza:
can you try to get system logs into a pm to me? if possible the system configs with stripped passwords too.
I really have no clue yet why you guys have this behaving's on your system as neither of us can reproduce this by default.

Re: NAS4Free 10.3.0.3.2853 released (FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-P5)
i could... but i looked into it, there is nothing wrong within the log... The only thing i recognize right now is, that i cann't start my jail anymore after it is updated to 10.3 - i have to look after it.
GUI looks strange, too:
I think my behaviour has nothing to do with urza, because i didn't had a single service that was availible any more, i'll have an eye of it. Do you want logfile and config anyway?

Re: NAS4Free 10.3.0.3.2853 released (FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-P5)
I discovered now that samba is not stable here when transfering files (matroska movies).
Not a problem to stream though but transfering is a problem as i can see.
It can be the router asus rt-ac3200
It comes up as it did 30 minutes ago, not sure now but i guess.

Command line update some as install, just no need add path to Thebrig - only run thebrig_install.sh

urza, received your files!
After browsing your log and config I notice a few things.
1. your a bit low on ram for your system, at 4Gb more if you can.
Second, check your ram, maybe its faulty and or you have bootdrive corruption???
2. your config file is incorrect! should be 2.5 not 2.4, it seems something on upgrade went fully wrong.
I notice missing modules and files too.
3. Please, Reinstall from livecd/usb and check checksum after download!, after clean reinstall restore config and reboot.
I also suggest you re-adjust your server lan settings. set a static ip address not DHCP as it is now.
its your setup that gives the problems atm, sorry.

1. 4GB is the maximum my motherboard can have
2. So will this be ok if after reinstall I upload this invalid config?
3. router's dhcp is giving preconfigured IP to my nas box

Still do set this static ip address in the server, you did given in router also, don't let the system search for it than.

Re: NAS4Free 10.3.0.3.2853 released (FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-P5)
Hello, You can simply call the default NAS4Free Console Menu by typing "/etc/rc.initial" over SSH, however if you disabled the console then just directly reset webgui by typing "/etc/rc.d/lighttpd restart".urza wrote:I see, but my nas4free is running on headless remote server, so I would prefer something over ssh..
If restart fails then you have to remove config.lock after forcestop, which is the commands performed by the Option #11 in console menu:
Code: Select all
# /etc/rc.d/lighttpd forcestop
# rm -f /var/run/config.lock
# /etc/rc.d/lighttpd forcestart

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

I am using 2xIntel Pro/1000 CT (82574L chipset on PCI Express x1).
I had to remove the MTU value all together from the config. Even putting MTU 1500 resulted in error: ioctl SIOCSIFMTU (set mtu): Invalid argument
I am pretty sure it was working fine in 10.2.
So I reverted to standard MTU size.
Regards,
Mathieu

Re: NAS4Free 10.3.0.3.2853 released (FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-P5)
Thanks everybody for your incentives. I finally solved the problem. I almost forget that some time ago I installed unionfs folowing this post
http://www.nas4free.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=210
to be able to add some programs to my embed N4F, one of them being youtube-dl for downloading youtube videos to my NAS. This installed some dependencies and probably something was not compatible with the new freebsd version or something like that... after removing the unionfs altogether everything seems to work. I will probably try different approach and install additional programs I need in some lightweigth linux VM.
So with this, hopefully my issue is closed. Thanks again.

If you use UnionFS, please do not mount whole /var, just mount /var/pkg since there is where pkg meta resides on.
