NAS4Free 10.3.0.3.2895 released (FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-P5)

Post by zoon01 »

The NAS4Free Team is pleased to announce the release of version 10.3.0.3.2895 series.

UPDATE: This version contains an ipv6 bug!

Many work and efforts has been put in to make this a great release.
An new ZFS Tools page could not be included on time as it's still under rewrite, but this will be added within 3 weeks we think.
10.3.0.3 is really a huge step above the 10.2 series, we hope you like it like we do!

http://sourceforge.net/projects/nas4fre ... .0.3.2895/

Everyone can upgrade from NAS4Free version 9.3.0.2.1310 or Higher.

README & CHANGELOG

NAS4Free Upgrade from below 9.3.0.2.1310 is NOT possible!!!
=====================================================
Upgrading NAS4Free "Embedded" or "Full" from any version below 9.3.0.2.1310 by webgui or from
LiveCD/USB is problematic, due a new size of boot partition & partition layout.
Please download and save your NAS4Free config and backup all files from second
partition if you do use the boot disk as your data disk too.
INSTALL FROM SCRATCH IS THAN THE ONLY WAY!
After installation you can restore your config and continue using your server.
Sorry for this inconvenience.

Install from scratch notes:
======================
Download NAS4Free livecd or liveusb and boot from it.
The compressed LiveUSB.img.gz needs to be extracted before you can write it to usb media,
you can use it with Win32DiskImager or any other tool.
Press 9 for the install menu and perform an embedded installation.

** Embedded.img.xz is only for upgrades by WEBGUI, do not extract and write to any media for fast installs! **
It will be problematic as it doesn't make the required partitions you do need!

Upgrade note:
============
You must associate CARP with physical interface explicitly after upgrading to 10.X fom 9.3 series.
You may need modifying your NFS and AFP share settings.
You may need modifying your ftp settings, no longer SSL is supported (only TLS).
You may need modifying your ups settings.
You may need to disable virtualbox-ose on 32-bits install first as this is an 64-bits version feature.
After upgrading, you might need to re-sync ZFS configuration from Disks|ZFS|Configuration|Synchronize.
Send Buffer Size/Receive Buffer Size in CIFS/SMB is changed to 128480 since 9.3.0.2.1375.

** After the upgrade please do make a new backup of your configuration! see: System|Backup/Restore on menu **

Syncthing note:
===============
Syncthing 0.14.x versions is included but is incompatible with 0.13.x and 0.12.x versions from 10.2!
Every user that uses Syncthing service should be aware they will have to upgrade all their syncthing clients too.

[EXTENSION] Extended GUI note:
==============================
ExtendedGUI extension is not compatible yet with 10.3.0.3 series.
Disable this before you do upgrade!

Requirements:
============
Embedded: 2GB CF/USB/SSD (NAS4free "Embedded" is Recommended Install)
Full: 4GB HDD/SSD (For developers and some advanced users, Not Recommended!)
Swap less: physical memory 2GB or higher needed.
With swap: physical memory 512MB + swap 512MB (swap 1024MB recommended).

*Note: LiveCD is not supported on swap mode except installation and upgrading.

Hello,
just update to 2895 from 2545.

I have a Fantec 4bay USB3/esata connected to a HP Microserver N36L via esata.
With 2545 the disks are seen (and used), but 2895 can't see the disks inside the Fantec (the Fantec itself is seen ad port multipler in both releases).

At the moment I reinstalled 2545 (weekend is backup time adn the backup disks are on the Fantec). but if needed I suppose I can reinstall the 2895 to do some testing.

In first screenshot (2545.png), ada5-8 are insied the Fantec (that is seen as pmp0).
After update I tried a "Clear Config & Import Disks" with no luck.

Thanks Bye Jack

I check rc.conf webgui page.
I understand, enable|disable checkbox must uncomment|comment string at rc.conf ?
If I understand true - this function not work. It not remove disabled entry also

Can't access WebGUI - 10.3.0.3.2895

Post by jamaroney »

Upgraded from 2870 (embedded x64) to 2895. All runs OK except WebGUI. Log says "root: /etc/rc: WARNING: failed to start lighttpd". If I try to start lighttpd, I get the following:

invalid IP addr: [fe80::4637:e6ff:fe78:de16%em0]:80
2016-07-23 06:11:26: (configfile.c.1106) source: /var/etc/lighttpd.conf line: 110 pos: 55 parser failed somehow near here: {

I redownloaded and reinstalled 2895 - same problem. Went back to 2870 - all was fine again. Again reinstalled 2895 - same problem.

I checked both 2895 and 2870 versions of lighttpd.conf, and they are identical in and around line 110.

2895 has a new version of lighttpd - is this the problem?

hi all

i test at time hast for a cluster iscsi target with 3 pair of lacp (lan network,iscsitarget network, synchro network) 2 carp lan/iscsitarget.

problem are :
- hast don't conserv master/esclave param after shutdown and start, but it's conserved after restart. a stange bug.
- lacp juste rr failover works find but not for 802.3ad

i test now iscsi target without lacp / hast / carp.

Hi,

I had the same problem. I disable IPV6 and restarted lighttpd and now WebGUI works again.
reconfigured IPV6 and WebGUI stoped working.

Some problem whith IPV6?

Same here - as soon as I disabled IPv6, the WebGUI worked fine.

IPV6 still not working for me with 2897. Disabled IPV6 ro console, had to manualy restart lighttpd to get WebGUI to start. All this with manual IPV6 setings.
Then I setup IPV6 manualy, again had to manualy restart lighttpd an now WebGUI was working. Then in WebGUI to switched to automatic settings and WebGUI stoped working.

Again disabled IPV6 from consol and restart lighttpd for a working system.
