Upgrade, then resilver not working

Post by rwps »

Hi
My Microserver died at the same time I recognised one of my 4 disks was on the way out. On getting a new HP Gen8 microserver, I've decided to upgrade to a newer version of Nas4free.
From 9.1.0.1.636
To 10.3.0.3.3105

However I'm having trouble installing the new HDD.

I installed the three good disks and one new one.
I uploaded a config from the previous version of nas4free to get me going. I can access the pool and I saw errors under the Disk management tab that asked me to “clear configs and import disks” which I did.

The “ourdata” pool is degraded, but when I go to Advanced/Command and execute the command (zpool replace ourdata ada1p2) to replace/resilver the disk, nothing seems to happen.

I’m wondering if this has something to do with the disk IDs being different under Disks|Management|HDD Management (ada0, ada1, ada2, ada3) to those showing under Disks|ZFS|Pools|Information (ada0p2, ada1p2, ada1, ada2).
The output from Disks|ZFS|Pools|Information is below. Any thoughts on what I need to do to get the new disk in the pool?

Thanks

pool: ourdata
state: DEGRADED
status: One or more devices could not be opened. Sufficient replicas exist for
the pool to continue functioning in a degraded state.
action: Attach the missing device and online it using 'zpool online'.
see: http://illumos.org/msg/ZFS-8000-2Q
scan: scrub canceled on Sun Nov 6 10:48:04 2016
config:

NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
ourdata DEGRADED 0 0 0
raidz2-0 DEGRADED 0 0 0
ada0p2 ONLINE 0 0 0 block size: 512B configured, 4096B native

solved my own problem by looking at my previous post years back with a similar issue (to do with partitions it seems) - sorry all!
This command has got things underway
zpool replace ourdata 9736773020940277535 ada1

Should I do something to get rid of the partitions? or just leave it til I replace that drive?
