Hello all,

there is a new release (v0.2.1) of this extension available => [EXTENSION] NextOwnCloud.
UPDATES CAN BE DONE DIRECTLY VIA THE WEBGUI (Extension Maintenance Tab).

If you use the most recent version of the extension the above is included now so you won't need it anymore.

Was able to install the extension with no issues with the OneButtonInstaller and able to use it. But is there a walk thru or guide to setting it up for off network/remote usage? Cause as of now I can only access those files when on home network. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

If the installation of the extension
"- features the minimum configuration for the installation of the NextCloud and ownCloud applications
- sets the right permissions to the used paths
- sets the upload file size to 2 GB
- checks / shows the state of the NAS4Free webserver service
...
- includes extension maintenance (update & removal) without the need to work with the system console or shell CLI"

would it not be possible to have the same (or similar) smarts, available later from within "Extensions > NextOwnCloud x.y.z > Maintenance", so that users can check on the details of the (then) current configuration, possibly with the option of saving the output to a file for later consideration? IOW, use what already exists to extend the "update & removal" options to include an "assess" option?
Keeping ignorance alive with misinformation and ambiguity is not uncommon;
in many fora, it's the preferred method.

Maybe you already found a solution, if not try this http://www.locslikes.com/remote-access/ or google for owncloud remote access or similar, there are a lot of more or less elaborate descriptions on how to perform this ;)

Sorry but maybe I didn't get you right, do you mean that you want to backup/restore the settings?
I you just want to check the current configuration of your Next/ownCloud settings you can perform this in the Next/ownCloud administration GUI ... :?:

Hello,

My NextCloud install has suggested to update it to 10.0.3. But after clicking the updater button in admin settings, it crashed with the following error :

Code: Select all

Feb 7 21:53:14	lighttpd[3548]:	(mod_fastcgi.c.2543) FastCGI-stderr: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: Could not do request to updater server: error setting certificate verify locations:
Feb 7 21:53:14	lighttpd[3548]:	(mod_fastcgi.c.2543) FastCGI-stderr: CAfile: /usr/local/share/certs/ca-root-nss.crt
The directory /usr/local/share/certs/ is not available on my NAS4FREE 11.0.0.4 ?
Any ideas to how to install the missing certificates ?
Many thanks !

I've set up mine yesterday and are still learning to configure it.

Just a few questions, maybe somebody knows the awnsers:

- Is it possible with this extension to rescan the folders when I change something in directly in the folder, outside Nextcloud? I know there is the 'occ files:scan --all' command and I could set in in a cron job I presume, but doe we have a console for this kind of actions?
- Is it possible to change the date format to dd-mm-yyyy in stead of mm-dd-yyyy and is a 24h time format possible?

Thanks in advance!

I think updating Nextcloud is only possible when it is build in the extension and a new version is available? (correct me if i'm wrong).

Is the Nas4free web server designed to work only with self-signed keys?

I ask this because I've obtained a signed ssl certificate from a reputable issuer and the web interface chokes on the private key when I paste it into the appropriate box and try to save.

If I copy the key pair from the System/General page and paste them into the boxes everything saves OK but then browsers choke when I access from https and I have to accept a self-signed key, which I am trying to avoid.

For what it's worth I don't really know what I'm doing but I've read a thousand web links trying to figure it out.

Nextcloud seems to be running fine and I could access it from the internet with the self-signed key, but that's not what I want.

Also, I've been unable to use the lighttpd.conf file to implement the ssl settings from the Mozilla Configuration Generator because the file is not persistent across web server re-starts.

I have a working nextcloud install, after the 0.2.2 update, many thanks crest!

I would like to report two problems I encountered:
1) I could not change the data directory out of the ../www folder. No matter how I tried to indicate the path in the GUI, installed and re-installed the extension. Finally, I had to manually edit the nextcloud config.php and manually move the folder out.

2) i am getting an error: "Some files have not passed the integrity check" and the list of invalid files shows that the nextowncloud-phpinfo.php. Any ideas?

Please use the most recent version of the NextOwnCloud (NOC) extension as it provides the installation of the latest applications, especially needed for PHP 7.1.x.
Updating the applications itselfs should be done inside the Next/ownCloud application webgui, the NOC extension provides no upgrade functions for this BUT now a full backup and restore functionality for the Next/ownCloud applications as well as for the data folders to perform these actions from inside the N4F webgui and to avoid using the CLI. There is also an automatically created backup script which can be used for regularly backups with cron. I recommend to create a backup before upgrading the application (as also recommended by the Next/ownCloud creators) to have the possibility to revert to the previous version just in case there are problems after the upgrade.

Thank you! You could perform occ actions from the N4F CLI but I would recommend to do all changes from inside the Next/ownCloud application WebGUI or to use the clients available for the different platforms (Android, Windows etc). If you want to work with occ nevertheless you could use the form:

Code: Select all

/usr/local/bin/sudo -u [YourWebserverUser] /usr/local/bin/php /mnt/[PathToYourNextCloudInstallation]/occ files:scan --all   ... etc
but as I said before ... ;)

- Is it possible to change the date format to dd-mm-yyyy in stead of mm-dd-yyyy and is a 24h time format possible?
...
For me the date format is dd-mm-yyyy in the NextCloud WebGUI for German but maybe you can force to change the format within the NextCloud config.php, please refer to the NextCloud documentation.

Sorry but I cannot help with this issue because I use just self-signed keys ...

Also, I've been unable to use the lighttpd.conf file to implement the ssl settings from the Mozilla Configuration Generator because the file is not persistent across web server re-starts.
Don't change .conf files directly because the changes will be overwritten after a restart, use instead the Additional Parameters in Services > Webserver to amend setttings for the webserver service.

As mentioned at the very end of the first post of this topic (screenshot of ownCloud setup) use the data folder which you setup in the extension at the FIRST login to Next/ownCloud - open "Storage and database" and paste the data folder path inside before you hit Finish Setup, than you will get the right path definition inside the application.

2) i am getting an error: "Some files have not passed the integrity check" and the list of invalid files shows that the nextowncloud-phpinfo.php. Any ideas?

Raw output
==========
Array
([core] => Array([EXTRA_FILE] => Array([nextowncloud-phpinfo.php] => Array(
[expected] =>
[current] =>5b027f2d5a894edc537f39b2f84826b65f8ee5861b6f50bcb2bd9f44a5749eb327ee55bbd66f62df7c9a9748bce47c637cfed))))
This happens most likely because you somehow moved the file nextowncloud-phpinfo.php from the NOC extension inside the application directory. Not a big deal, just delete the file and the security warning will disappear.

How would I go about upgrading/updating Nextcloud to latest available version. I am currently on V. 11.0.0 but my Nextcloud Admin page indicates a newer V. 11.0.2. I tried the updater app button but nothing happens.

Tested this and the upgrade inside the Nextcloud webGUI worked fine, in your case I would recommend to
- backup your NC installation - you can use the most recent version of the Nextcloud extension for this
- perform a manual update as recommended in the NC manual
- and restore the necessary config.php, files and 3rd party plugins as described in the NC manual
should solve your issue.

Best regards

Changed the webserver form http to https but that did not help logging below:

Hi,

have been using nas4free on and off for a few years, but not for the last 2 years or so.
Recently i have decided to resurrect my unused 9.xx system and did a fresh install of N4F 11.0.0.4, including the OBI extension of NextOwncloud 11.
Yesterday i tried to upgrade NextCloud 11 to NC 12, but it did not work.
Uninstalled the NextOwncloud extension with "remove Extension" button; the extension was removed from nas4free GUI, but the folders and all files remained.
Then installed theBrig with OBI, and Nextcloud 12 in a jail (with mysql).
Now i have 2 versions of nextcloud running, OBI version 11 (with SQL) :o and Jail version 12 with mysql. :P

Do i have to manually delete "owncloud" and "nextcloud" folders/files of OBI NOC installation?
Is that enough to completely remove the OBI version, or is there something else left?

thank you.

Deleting all files and folders removed the OBI NC version completely.
Uninstalled NC 12 jail version as well.
And updated N4F to rev 4303
All good. :)
Now back to reinstalling NC, jail version. :)
Is there going to be an OBI NC installation with mysql?
