When I first started fuppes it worked fine. Then it refused to update the database when I added new videos or other media. I have seen several threads on this, but no solution that I can find other than adding a cron script to manually update the database.
Has anyone found the same issue and if so, what is the solution?

I detect the same on MiniDLNA from time to time, and sollution is to rescan database.
