Boot failed

Post by nasjohn »

Hi everyone,
I reinstalled NAS4free (NAS4Free-x64-LiveCD-11.0.0.4.4040) on an old pc yesterday.
It seems that everything works fine until early this afternoon when I started my NAS and got this two times:

Can anyone please help me fix this problem?
Thank you.

reinstall and restore your previosly saved config.

somethig is corrupt ( not sure what for your screen capture, but probably your boot device).
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

I installed nas4free yesterday; I haven't saved any config yet.
What should I do now?
What if I upgrade to the new version? Would I have a chance to fix the problem?
Thanks

no.

but you can do a reinstall, and once boot and work, go to disk and import disk and config.

once done you can access your data, only need to configure other services like SMB by hand.

and please this time save your config, and revise your SMART HD Values, is really strange that N4F fail unless your boot device or your hardware have problems.

update: do not reinstall if you use your boot disk to store data or you lose your data, I see this post: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=12168&p=75992#p75992

And not sure what do you do with your NAS.

Maybe you're right. There might be some problem with my hardware, but I want to make the most out of it nonetheless. I'm just learning. I don't need a NAS necessarily.

What do you mean with "revise your SMART HD Values"?
Thanks
