I see on the Disk Manangement page you can select the Power management and Acoustic level.
For drive that is running as the storage for Plex or DLNA music service , will these settings make any difference when streaming the music?
I have always set them both to minimum acoustic and Min performance, with standby.
Just wondering if these settings would have any noticeable effect on music streaming when cession FLAC files and needing transcoding.
The box sits there and only gets accessed for music every few days. SO having the disks drop in to standby to both save power and usage is ideal..but just wondered if this affects streaming performance ?

Re: HDD Management and Performance
if it affects streaming outpurt, you will notice it easily by music dropouts.
Just for Music, the speed will still be fine.

Re: HDD Management and Performance
Yes, sure,
Just trying to see what the opinion was.. I have old hardware so trying to gauge opinion if it was likely to be the drive performance or other factors. I have set them to max perf and max acoustic noise now..so time will tell
