using different brand hard drives fail to create

I have read that mfg and/or drive size is not problem BUT......

Each time I use (as example) 2 Seagate 250 gig and 1 Samsung 250 gig, I can create the virtual device. it will show drives size as 250.00; 250; and 250.06 (samsung)
When I create the pool, it fails and sits at "initializing" for a very long time with no change.
If I use 3 of the seagate 250 gig drives, the install goes quickly and without issue.

Each time I mix hard drive mfg's, it will not work.

here are the steps I used each time:
attach all drives with sata connectors in case
fire up nas4free
under Disks - HD mgt, i add each drive as unfomatted and save after each drive is added
once all drives are addes I goto Disks - HDD Format and format all as zfs selecting 'all'

Then I move to Disks- ZFS and add the virtual device

Then create the pool this is where is sticks

Does anyone have a suggestion?

use -f flag = force creation of pool using diferent sizes.
