New Install will not mount data partition

Post by dsandvig »

I am brand new to NAS4Free. Installed it as OS+DATA. It said to mount using the following parameters: Disk ada0, partition 2, partition type MBR, Filesystem UFS.

Did all that and every time it comes back with the most unhelpful response: Error - Retry.

So, suggestions? Otherwise, how can I do a complete new install by wiping the disk completely clean without the partitions and try again?

I'm not sure, but with the full install you can't have OS+DATA on the same drive, even in multiple partitions. I'm not 100% on that but I seem to remember reading it.

The full install needs it's own drive.

Hello,

note that the name from a mount point name should be simple and should never contain special characters, use "date" instead of "The big! FAT& cool drivä"

If your name is clean try to mount partition number 3 when it is offered.
