I'm trying to install nas4free on an old computer but after selecting option 9 to install to disk and either 1,2 or 3 to install nas4free the only drive that I can choose to install to is my CDROM.
I have a GA-965P-S3 (3.3) Motherboard with built in RAID. I don't have any hardware RAID configured, I'm just using the disks individually.
The disks show up under the web interface and are visible from an Ubuntu LiveCD install menu.
Do I need to somehow install some drivers for my disk controller? I can't see any options for doing this.
I hope this is enough information to be able to help me, let me know if not.
Thanks, Jake.

Re: Install to Disk: No disks in list
you need to configure in BIOS in AHCI mode ( not in RAID), and use the IDE to conect your boot device >( I use a CF2IDE and boot from a 4GB CF), but you can use a old and cheap IDE Disk.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

and if you are loading the embedded version you can spin down the disk after 5 minutesraulfg3 wrote:you need to configure in BIOS in AHCI mode ( not in RAID), and use the IDE to conect your boot device >( I use a CF2IDE and boot from a 4GB CF), but you can use a old and cheap IDE Disk.
2 or 3 Gb laptop drives from useless P1 laptops or defunct xerographic printers work great.
[with 40/44 pin adapters]
however
all 3 of my NAS listed below boot from the PATA or SATA IDE line with industrial grade direct plug in flash drives.
