I just got around to playing with my NAS setup again and realized freenas 7.x had forked so I decided to switch to Nas4Free.
I had a 2 drive JBOD set up that had been working with the old version. I used a new USB stick and installed to it with no problems.
Everything seems boot fine. I get to the setting up drives part and I can add the drives as software raid and format them and all goes well until I try and mount. I then get the the errors:
The following input errors were detected: •Wrong partition type or partition number.
•Can't get UFS ID.
I'm using disk, my software raid label (software gconcat JBOD), partition 1, UFS, and data as my mount name. This was what I was using in the old system.
I've formated them, added them back in several times with no changes.
Any suggestions ?

Re: Mount issue
If you format them, you lose your data, is this what you want?
PD: Try to use the new import disk buttons.

Re: Mount issue
Thanks for the reply. My issue isn't trying to migrate from the old version.
I've got my data backed up on to an external drive.
I'm basically trying to set this up from scratch and can't get my newly formatted drives to mount.
It feels like there is an issue with using the gui to mount the software raid disks.
I'm hoping there is a guru that can tell me what to look for from a console to make sure the mount parameters are correct.

Did you UFS format the RAID? This is RAID1 of screenshot, but same for other type.zarethustra wrote:Thanks for the reply. My issue isn't trying to migrate from the old version.

Re: Mount issue
OMG, I would have sworn I did exactly that.
The step that I apparently didn't perform was formating the software raid.
Thanks, the pictures were a big help.
This would proably be a nice sticky.
