Please forgive me if this question has already been answered, also the long post, but I really need help and was unable to find a solution.
Here is my question: Why am I getting "No space left on device" when I try to copy files to my ZSF Pool
Background: I have an instance of Freenas :- 0.7.2 Sabanda (revision 5543) This unit is running ZFS with 3 vdevs totaling but recently after some disk failures, it had been running in a degraded state, and I am having difficulty getting it healthy again, I suspect because the machine only has 2gb of ram and total disk space is: Total: 8.64T | Used: 4.45T | Free: 2.25T .
So, since I had some drives that I got as a gift and an extra case I decided to build a new Nas4Free server where I could backup my current Freenas instance before upgrading it, current setup is:
9.0.0.1 - Sandstorm (revision 249) running with 16GB ram booting from an 8GB USB stick, disk space is :
Disk space usage: Tank 0% of 12.6TB
Total: 12.6T | Used: 137K | Free: 10.6T | State: ONLINE
state: ONLINE
scan: none requested
config:
NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
Tank ONLINE 0 0 0
raidz1-0 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada1 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada2 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada3 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada4 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada5 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada6 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada7 ONLINE 0 0 0
errors: No known data errors
Originally this machine had 2 pools, using 5 x 2Tb internal drives plus 5 x 2Tb drives connected to a multiplexer in a external Addonics case, however I kept getting timeout errors, so I destroyed both pools and moved the drives from the external cage into the tower and rebuilt the pool using 7 x 2TB in a raidz config. Before the rebuild I was able to copy data to pools but now I cannot.
