Hello,
I have this error when i would like activate bitTorent service.
Error: The changes could not be applied (error code 1).
I have make changes in différent parameters in the interface but all changes had the same result.

I make those parameters in folders:
Chown -R transmission: transmission
chmod 777 /data/torrents
chmod 777 /data/downoald
chmod 777 /data/unfinished

I use this version
9.1.0.1 - Sandstorm (revision 344)

Hi all,
I have find the solution for this problem in this web site http://www.r71.nl/kb/technical/273-free ... onfig-file

remove this file rm /usr/home/transmission/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json.

But I have another problem the deamon start but when i add a torrent.
I have a permission denied.
folders are those parameters.
drwxrwxrwx 2 transmission transmission 2 Oct 8 20:56 download
drwxrwxrwx 2 transmission transmission 2 Oct 8 20:56 torrents
drwxrwxrwx 2 transmission transmission 2 Oct 8 20:57 unfinished

but when i would like see where are the torrents they aren't in the /data/torrents but in /home/transmission/.config/transmission-daemon/torrents.

Guys, same error here...

Embedded system from a 4gb pendrive...
I have a raidz pool, mounted under mnt/raidpool.

I have a folder for transmission here with 3 subfolders
-config
-drop
-incomplete

everything has 777 and owner:group is transmission:transmission.

settings.json is nowhere to be found.

mv: rename /home/transmission/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json.new to /home/transmission/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json: No such file or directory
Starting transmission.
0: Event not found.
/etc/rc.d/transmission: WARNING: failed to start transmission


am I missing some vital setting here?

ok, managed to resolve it... apparently they cannot be nested, a config folder cannot be in the download folder etc...

works ok now so it seems

0: Event not found.

It seems you have a problem about parent directory name. "!!TTOORR!!" is correct name??
If so, try to create on other directory which uses only alphabet.
