Re: from 11.3.0.4 to 12.0.0.4
Hello,
after the upgrade from v11.3 to v.12, on pre-boot, several error lines appear:
read 1 from ... to 0x......, errore: 0x4
read 8 from ... to 0x......, errore: 0x4
etc.
After 2 minutes the system starts correctly and does not report any anomalies
Any suggestion?

I found this bug in FreeBSD - https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_ ... ?id=233534
And this (patch) - http://freebsd.1045724.x6.nabble.com/Pa ... 96752.html
I hope in future versions this will be fixed.

Re: from 11.3.0.4 to 12.0.0.4
In order to help you, we need more information regarding your setup as usual, one common and basic information to provide is what XigmaNAS version and Platform are you running, i.e. XigmaNAS Embedded Platform, XigmaNAS Full RootOnZFS Platform, or XigmaNAS Full(Legacy UFS) Platform.
Regarding on booting *LiveMedia, i.e. XigmaNAS LiveCD, XigmaNAS LiveUSB-GPT(For Modern Hardware) or XigmaNAS LiveUSB-MBR(For Legacy Hardware), the BIOS need to point for this disk/device in order to be booted from.
As for the BTX halt errors, some users has been reporting boot errors in latest XigmaNAS/FreeBSD releases, it may be possible since a lot of changes has been made to FreeBSD base lately, including newer boot/loader interpreters/chains etc, if this is the case the user should stay in XigmaNAS 11.x until this sorted out.
As for Upgrading a XigmaNAS Full Platform running on UFS from 11.x to 12.x, it is not recommended due the major version changes i.e. the upgrade may success or simply being borked out, only XigmaNAS RootOnZFS Platforms can be upgraded from 11.x to 12.x as its upgrade is in a separate non destructive process and the user can rollback at anytime if the new upgrade is not working or appealing.

Re: from 11.3.0.4 to 12.0.0.4
Hello. I'm on XigmaNAS Embedded Platform - x64-embedded on Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU J1900 @ 1.99GHz
Anyway, I'm booting from XigmaNAS-x64-LiveUSB-GPT-11.3.0.4.6928 in UEFI mode, install embedded and restore config.
Should I stay on 11.3.0.4?
When can I upgrade to 12?

Re: from 11.3.0.4 to 12.0.0.4
Hello, if you are able to boot XigmaNAS 12.0 LiveUSB-GPT without BTX loader errors in your hardware, then I recommend the 12.x series, otherwise stay in 11.x branch.Itzamna wrote: ↑18 Oct 2019 08:32Hello. I'm on XigmaNAS Embedded Platform - x64-embedded on Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU J1900 @ 1.99GHz

I also recommend to install the OS/EFI option as this is also backward compatible with GPT/BIOS boot as well.

Re: from 11.3.0.4 to 12.0.0.4
Hello, XigmaNAS RootOnZFS upgrades from 11.3 to 12.x should work just fine, remember that you can always rollback to your previous Boot Environment if the upgrade/release does not appeal to you.
Things that should be considered are that you may need to upgrade/reinstall side packages if they don't work in 12.x as expected(due major version/kernel changes), the good things is that this does not affect the previous Boot Environment, so if you are unable to perform the required maintenance if any, simply rollback.
Also you may notice some old sysctl harmless warning messages(this also applies to Embedded), this can also be easily fixed by removing older(no longer needed) entries/values from the GUI.
Note that I'm busy ATM to do test for you unfortunately, however I can confirm that I was successfully able to even Upgrade XigmaNAS RootOnZFS from 11.1 to 12.x after rc.firmware manual patching, but from 11.3 to 12.x does not requires for any manual interventions.
Useful Utilities: Boot Environments Manager(GUI), Bemanager(Advanced TUI/CLI)

Re: from 11.3.0.4 to 12.0.0.4
I have just upgraded from 11.2.0.4.7014 to 12.1.0.4.7091 and had no more connection to the Machine.
I installd the USB-Stick new from scratch and restored the config.
After that there was no more connection via the Intel-NIC's.
Curious: no more ping inside the same Network, but was able to ping the router in front of the regular one.
There were no changes made on the router during the upgrade, everything around the machine was untouched.
After all, i had to change the LAN-Interface on Console to the Realtek NIC
I've aktivated the Intel-NIC in the webgui then but no connection.
Now the Intel-NIC runs.
