Upgrade 11.0.0.4 to 12.1.0.4 direct?
I want to confirm my upgrade path. Can I just install on a new USB stick (Embedded) and restore the config or is there a path to 12.1.x?

Re: Upgrade 11.0.0.4 to 12.1.0.4 direct?
Version 12.1.0.4.7389 was released a week ago. Can the question of the OP be answered positively? In other words, has the Samba issue been solved?
I mean to do the exact same thing: moving from 11.0.04 to 12.1.0.4.7389 with a new USB stick which has a fresh 12.1.0.4.7389 embedded install on it, a new mobo and use the exported config file from the 11.0.0.4 version.
My new build:
Asrock J5005-ITX mobo with 32GB RAM, 4x WD 3TB Red drives in Raidz2 using Thermaltake drive cages, 16GB Sandisk Extreme USB3, M4-ATX power supply on 24V solar system.

Re: Upgrade 11.0.0.4 to 12.1.0.4 direct?
Yes.
Save your actual config in a safe place.
Do a new embeded install from scrath (do NOT upgrade from webGUI)
boot from this new install.
restore your previosly saved config.
reboot.
done, you must have a upgraded XigmaNAS ready to use.

Re: Upgrade 11.0.0.4 to 12.1.0.4 direct?
I'm coming from 11.0.0.4 embedded. I created a new stick with 12.1.0.4.
Web gui access started ok, but after reloaded my old configuration and reboot, I have no webgui access.
I see this message:
Warning: array_key_exists() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /etc/inc/system.inc on line 166 Warning: session_start(): Cannot start session when headers already sent in /etc/inc/session.inc on line 52 Warning: session_regenerate_id(): Cannot regenerate session id - session is not active in /etc/inc/session.inc on line 39 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /etc/inc/system.inc:166) in /usr/local/www/login.php on line 44, I see these message also after login, no webgui.
Old shares, ssh access, password are ok.
Have you any idea?
Thank's

Re: Upgrade 11.0.0.4 to 12.1.0.4 direct?
I use embedded not full install, however nor restore webgui neither restore config, are working.
So i'm trying to reflash usb with embedded. Saved /etc/inc/system.inc and /usr/local/www/login.php
Access to webgui, restore old nas4free configuration, error...
Checked file version:
- system.inc unchanged
- login.php has nas4free header, restored 'old' xigmanas version, no error on login page, but error after login, related to /usr/local/www/index.php.
I'm not php expert, but, for some reason www directory is corrupted after old config restore.
Sorry for my english

I don't have any webgui extension installed, but I installed plex some years ago following this thread: viewtopic.php?t=9031

Re: Upgrade 11.0.0.4 to 12.1.0.4 direct?
solved. Put old stick, removed all plex reference, saved configuration; reburned usb stick with 12*, restored configuration, so far all is ok.
I had read that extensions were not supported...
Thank's
