(SOLVED WITH SSMTP) Help to install SENDMAIL

Although it is less common to communicate by fax, I need care it. I have installed Hylafax with usb faxmodem and it can receive fax. However Hylafax use SENDMAIL to notify the user the receipt of fax and enclose such fax as email attachment (by tif or pdf). I try ssmtp but it can email without attachment only.

Subsquently, I have installed SENDMAIL+TLS+SASL2 by pkg_add but it ask for sendmail.cf. Then I copy all /etc/mail/*.* from Freebsd 9.1-RC1-amd64-disc to /etc/mail/ in my Nas4Free. But fail:

sendmail[3347]: q9NCNCw6003347: to=user@gmail.com, ctladdr=root (0/0), delay=00:00:30, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=30079, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection refused by [127.0.0.1]

Any help to configure SENDMAIL with gmail smtp server or any suggestion how to replace sendmail with other MTA.

You have built-in mail sender. System|Advanced|Email tab.
For use gmail may be need

sysctl net.inet.tcp.keepinit=180000

I know such email function and have used for my daily log reporting since freenas. I simply fill all the boxes including smtp.gmail.com. However, Hylafax does not use it as mail sender.

Try to write small script on php, which be placed on /usr/sbin/ and named sendmail.sendmail, which will make attach your message to php function.

Thanks for your advice but it is difficult for me to follow as it involves to amend or instruct Hylafax to follow such new script. I find that both Sendmail and Ssmtp will not handle attachment so I use ssmtp again in view of its simple and understandable configuration.
