Did you have crash on 9.1.0.1.358 + AIO size = 4096 with SMB2?

crashed with smb2 and AIO enabled - no matter if AIO = 1 / AIO = 4096

Win7 32bit Client connection on transfer lost after a few Gb - Win Reports: Network Connection lost...

no Problem with small Files (300mb) - on XP 32bit Client there's no Problem too

Thank you.
Could you test with 9.1.0.1.394 which includes latest samba 3.6.8?
(358 uses samba 3.6.7)

I forget to write. Please write your "Advanced settings" in Services|CIFS/SMB|Settings.

Thanks,

no prob! will update & test asap

please see attached jpg for advanced settings:
smb_adv_sett.jpg
/edit

no change after upgrade...! Win7 Client loosing Network connection during transfer with AIO enabled

for /me there's no reason to use AIO - my transfer Speed are good ~90MByte/s read/write via smb Protocol

i only suggest to hide AIO checkbox if smb2 Protocol is choosed ;)

because many new user's enable smb2 with aio & then there have connection trouble...

greetings from Germany

Hi,

I also did some testing today.
Got the latest nas4free running and checked aio.
Now when trying to transfer files on a server2008r2 machine the transfer aborted.
I also tried to change aio size, but that also not helps.
When deactivate aio with smb2 all works like a charme.
So the request for hiding the checkbox for aio would be a good workaround, until it's functional.
Or a warning, if it's checked.

I request that the check box not be disabled, BUT a BRIGHT RED Warning Posted that this may not work, and if you have any issues to uncheck it. As it works with my setup perfectly fine.
I also request the checkbox for Sendfile with SMB2 have the same warning, as it works fine for my setup with SMB2
I have to use a cmd script right now to fix this as well as enable

max protocol = SMB2
socket options = IPTOS_LOWDELAY TCP_NODELAY SO_SNDBUF=262144 SO_RCVBUF=262144
use sendfile = yes
aio read size = 4096
aio write size = 4096
