Jdownloader need Java
You must use jail http://wiki.nas4free.org/doku.php?id=do ... tion:howto
And under jail

Code: Select all

cd /usr/ports/sysutils/screen
make install clean
cd /usr/ports/java/jdk16
make install clean
After this steps you can install jDownloader.

But where profit from it?

When I am at work and find something I want to download for home, I access pyload at home via its webgui and put the files to download. By the time I get home, it has been downloaded..

Pyload is used for hosters like rapidshare, easybytez, etc. There are downloads there you can't find in torrents, or can't verify their quality. Easybytez and rapidshare links are common in private forums - quaranteed for quality.
Pyload also has an android/iphone app with which you can monitor your downloads/ add more downloads if you need so, etc... It is very cool..
I have personally installed it more than a year ago, but as said on a linux machine I use specifically as downloader, not on my NAS (my Nas has stayed a pure NAS for now..). But the truth is that I rarely use it...

I run pyLoad inside a virtual machine on a linux. It doesn't need much RAM and if your hardware is powerful enough, no problem. This is my way to avoid jails =)
