Hi. Running build 431 on an old compaq deskpro. Have a share which is accessed by both NFS and Samba. Was accessing the share from a linux box all day using NFS, worked great. Went to a windows box and tried to access from Samba, didn't work. After booting the server via the webgui from the windows machine, then accessing with Samba worked fine. Didn't do anything else on the client. Is this typical behavior? Obviously not ideal.
Thanks,
IMF

Re: Need to reboot?
Did you change the protocol? You do need to reboot the client when going from SMB2 to NT1 or vice versa. Though rebooting the NAS should have the same effect. Also NFS and CIFS are different processes so with this being the first time accessing via CIFS it makes me think you changed something with CIFS at some other time and just never rebooted.

Re: Need to reboot?
Hi Onichan. Thanks for answering. I don't recall changing anything since I set it up. I do think I rebooted after setting them up and didn't make any changes since. I will continue to observe and report back.
Thanks,
