Firmware upgrade (431-531) doesn't do anything. Stays on 431

My system runs embedded 431 x64 version. I've downloaded both embedded x64 509 and 531; in System|Firmware i've enabled the loading of the updated firmware, loaded it.

The NAS has rebooted once completed whatever it was doing, then the system came up with the same 431 version, in both cases (509 and 531).

The embedded version runs properly from a Disk on Key and the configuration is saved on another Disk on Key.

Any idea what am I doing wrong?

Do you have some jail installed?.

I have the same problem and was due a bad configured jail.

Does it maybe has to do with the zfstune installation?

If jail is some addon or additional package then it's not a jail issue.

Any other idea?

yes, perhaps can't do the upgrade. (because usb is damaged, or have left space, or i don't know)

save your actual config and do a fresh embeded install, once done, restore config, must work.

PD: be aware do not confuse usb keys (use only the boot USB key when do the upgrade)

My installation crashed when doing the upgrade to 531 (embedded).
Now fresh installed from CD on the same USB stick...
