I installed versions 457. works like a charm.
however, the firmware upgrade is no more available : no "Enable firmware upload" or "Upgrade firmware" buttons, and the sentence "You must reboot the system before you can upgrade the firmware".
rebooting does not change anything...
any idea ?

Do you know that if install a full version you can't upgrade anymore by webgui?.
Upgrade by WebGui is only for embeded install.
Go to Status | System and see what is your Platform and post it.

Re: [457] firmware upgrade no more available
Now, I upgraded from the live usb, and my build is 531, but I still haven't got a "Enable firmware upload" button.
The install is : embedded on a 4GB CF card.
Help would be much appreciated...

Re: [457] firmware upgrade no more available
try a new embeded install from scrath, test if this time show the button, and if yes, load your previosly saved config, and revise that still show firmware button, if not , something in your config tell Nas4free that is a full install not a embeded.

Re: [457] firmware upgrade no more available
Update: I did have a drive which was missing, at the moment I dont know why. Anyway I deleted the drive and the share that was on it, rebooted and now have the 'enable firmware update button' which has allowed me to update to build 531
I will try and re-add the problem drive and see if the button disappears again.

Re: [457] firmware upgrade no more available
Yes, it seems to be linked with afp shares that do not update when i modify them.
I solved it by disabling afp, then rebooting, then modifying the shares and then restarting afp. And by then the "enable firmware" button had reappeared !
mysterious behaviour !
