If I failed to label my LiveCD/USB, is there some easy way to identify the NAS4Free version and hardware target(32/64 bit) by just mounting it under another OS, like Windows?
Looking at the directory under a Windows command shell, shows the following:
h:\>dir
Volume in drive H is NAS4Free-x64-Liv
Volume Serial Number is 722E-474B
Directory of h:\
11/23/2012 10:40 PM 97,745,655 NAS4Free-x64-embedded.gz
11/23/2012 10:40 PM <DIR> boot
11/23/2012 10:40 PM 2,048 boot.catalog
11/23/2012 10:40 PM 74,250,321 mfsroot.gz
3 File(s) 171,998,024 bytes
1 Dir(s) 0 bytes free
Oops, it does look like the hardware target, x64 in this case, is defined. However, I looked through all the files and found no easy way to identify the version of NAS4Free that is on the LiveCD/USB.
Would it be possible to add a README file at the top level that would contain this information?
It could also give a brief description of the contents, how to use it and a pointer to the NAS4Free project for more details. To make maintaining this file and adding it to the LiveCD/USB easier, the contents could be static, while just the filename changes for each release. I'm thinking of a filename like: README_NAS4Free_9.1.0.1.531_x64.txt
Thanks

Re: How can I identify LiveCD/USB contents?
It would be nice if it were a little easier to tell what version a disc was, but to simply answer your question, that's 9.1.0.1.531. By chance, I just downloaded and burned it yesterday, and mine matches your posted details.
It's not exact, but the 11/23 timestamps match up pretty closely to the 11/24 dates on the download page. At least the timestamps would let you filter out older releases (e.g. if the disc was released in September, it couldn't have files created in November) to help narrow it down, even if it didn't point to an exact version.
