Dear Nas4 forums. This has to be one of the best pieces of software I have used in a very long time. This is my first post and I will start by asking a very basic question...
I am having an issue on a brand new installation, no errors at all, of NAS4FREE (latest version on the website) (9.1.0.1-531).
When I go to create a dataset in my pool it will allow me to create the first dataset no problem. Each subsequent dataset regardless of settings, size, quote, etc... successfully creates however it places it in the "Current" tab and not in "Detected" on the ZFS control screen. I am unable to use the Dataset and it will not even show up under the /mnt/pool folder. I have no idea what to do. It is as if the GUI detects the dataset but NOT the server it's self. I am wits end trying to figure this out. I do not want to have to use CLI on such a heavily gui engineered product. I really love the GUI layout of this software but I have no idea how to make the "ZFS Configuration - Current" tab move over to "Detected" to allow me to use the dataset. I am tired of trying and am reaching out for help.
many thanks in advance.

Re: ZFS Page-- Current | Detected | Synchronize big issue???
Well now I feel stupid..
I referred to : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/819-5461/gbcpt/
And discovered my answer. As long as I do not input names of datasets correctly it will work. I was inputting the wrong dataset name format, i.e. Accouning and taxes and it was sticking in the web gui as accepted but naturally it was not being accepted by the ZFS it's self. However using a name such as Accounting-and-Taxes it worked fine. I was not obeying the rules of naming convention for DataSets.
This is not a flaw or an issue rather the lack of my own understanding.

Re: ZFS Page-- Current | Detected | Synchronize big issue???
Thanks for posting back about this! I am sure others who run into this problem will also appreciate it. I didn't realize ZFS had name requirements. Sounds like you should cross post this in the "Suggestions/Requests" forum - because the webgui should not accept dataset names that zfs will reject...
