Hi!
I have a esxi server at home and I want to install Nas4Free on it, but someone told me that I need
VT-d or/and IOMMU or else the ZFS will read very slow. Is this true or not? Should I format with UFS instead?
I have no idea if I have VT-d and IOMMU.
My mobo is an old MSI, fitted from the beginning in a HP machine, MS-7225.

it is so easy to temporarily re-purpose most any computer why go to the trouble of a difficult virtual install
unless that is where you are going to stay with the project. it is just not my idea of safe
here I tested a box between OS'

having all the eggs in one basket is not my idea of safe data storage
with a separate storage box one can "set it and forget it"

sh the system you mentioned does not support IOMMU pass-through. I'd personally seize the moment and make this a reason to upgrade your ESX white box. That's what I'm doing with my hardware.. I've got a number of perfect components to do dedicated configurations but I decided to build a solid white box instead of having multiple machines running.
