Firewire Causes Kernel Panic

Post by tuaris »

I've never seen FreeBSD kernel panic so this is a first for me :shock:

Anyway, I have a 64-bit NAS4Free server with a Firewire 800 card:
Syba Controller Card Sd-Pex30009 Low Profile Pci-Express 1394b Firewire with TI XIO2213 chipset.

After about 30 seconds of writing a large file (1GB+) to the device, the system just kernel panics and reboots. The last item in the log is:

Code: Select all

Dec 22 07:20:44 storage kernel: fwohci0: fwohci_intr_core: BUS reset
Dec 22 07:20:44 storage kernel: fwohci0: fwohci_intr_core: node_id=0x00000000, SelfID Count=2, CYCLEMASTER mode
Dec 22 07:20:44 storage kernel: firewire0: 1 nodes, maxhop <= 0 cable IRM irm(0)(me)
Dec 22 07:20:44 storage kernel: firewire0: bus manager 0
In the meantime I've plugged in the device using a USB port and it works perfectly. I'd like to use Firewire mainly because I don't have enough USB ports.
