Hi guys,
I have a speed problem with SMB. The created file server's copying (both writing and reading) speed for clients is fine with the wired connections (around 33MB/sec), but through wireless is extremely slow: 1.5 MB/sec.
I have the following config:
hp proliant microserver n40l (8GB ram) with a VmWare Vsphere ESX 5.1, on that a dedicated VM for the NAS4Free with two virtual discs: 1 for the program itself, the other is the fileservers disk. I've booted the .iso, and with the webgui I've configured a CIFS/SMB service with default settings. Everything is going smoothly with all the wired clients but the wireless is really slow, as described above. A normal download from the web through wireless is much more quicker. I've client computers with XP, W7, Fedora Linux, all providing the same speed difference between wired and wireless connections.
I have a TP-Link TL-WR740N router (Firmware Version: 3.12.4 Build 100910 Rel.57694n; Hardware Version: WR740N v1/v2 00000000).
Can it be a router problem, or am I missing something?

Re: Very slow wireless file transfer
if all providing the same speed difference between wired and wireless connections, is a router/ wifi problem.
try other router or try to use DD-WRT in your router to test it. http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
