Sorry I do not kwon if I ask for a existing feature, because my pool is created in the FreeNAS time and upgrade several months ago to Nas4Free.
But I request for use of UTF8 by default when you create a pool, I notice that my pool is not UTF8, when I install serviio ( I do not have problem using SMB), only whit serviio because it reads files from my pool and show in the upnp renders with "strange" characters.
This is the old XigmaNAS forum in read only mode,

12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
