Depuis la version 3.2.10 de Virtualbox il suffit d'activer le passthrough.
C'est exact que mes machines virtuelles sous vmware sont plus réactives mais les dernières versions de Virtualbox ont réduit le delta.

Perso je suis aussi avec des esxi pour la virtu et en cluster avec en liaison iscsi vers mon cluster nas4free.
Pas simple à mettre ne oeuvre mais c'est assez efficace une fois que tout est bien paramétré.
