I had my nas4free running perfect but last we suffered a power cut. When I restarted the server it was hanging on bootup with message the default gateway was unreachable. After a short time it will load.
I done a fresh install, but when I configure network ip address and reboot I still get the same message.
I tried to ping google.com but get 'ping: cannot resolve google.com: Host name lookup failure
I cant download the minidnla package either. When I try accessing with putty I get 'Network error: Connection refused'
I put the same details in when nas4free was running fine, I can access the webgui though and view my share disk if that's any help.

Re: Unable to download packages
first you need to solve your LAN problems, once done, the rest can be solved too.
try to use HDCP so your router assing a valid IP / Gateway / DNS if not possible reset your Router/gateway and try from start
You need to ping sucessfully before to start any other task.Buzzin wrote:I had my nas4free running perfect but last we suffered a power cut. When I restarted the server it was hanging on bootup with message the default gateway was unreachable. After a short time it will load.

Re: Unable to download packages
Successfully ping'd google.com. Why I didn't think of resetting everything I'll never know. Set up as DHCP.
I still can't get in to shell with putty, root + password still gives access denied?
I looked at the group list, is there supposed to be a root listed as group because there isn't one.
Sorry if all these questions seem a little stupid, but we never get anywhere if we don't ask questions

Re: Unable to download packages
to log using putty you need to configure SSH ( you need enable permit root login) in webGUI
