Ciao a tutto il forum, ho da poco realizzato un nas con Nas4free e non riesco a capire bene il discorso delle parità,ovvero, voglio installare su questo nas 8 o 10 hd da 2 tera l'uno, sempre che si possa installare un controller sas. La mia domanda è, su 8 dischi da 2T in raid5 quanti tera perdo? 2T o 4T? Su 3hd da 2 tera 1hd sparisce ma su 8?

In RAID5 perdi sempre 1 disco per la parità e puoi quindi perdere al massimo un disco.
In generale si consiglia di usare ZFS, dove il RAID5 è chiamato RAIDZ1. Per 8-10 dischi dovresti considerare almeno un RAIDZ2 (l'equivalente di un RAID6), che ha due dischi per la parità.

Consiglio anche io RAIDZ2 con tutti quegli HD in modo da poter tollerare il fault di 2 dischi, e considera tanta ma tanta RAM...
Direi non meno di 16Gb (ovviamente devi usare la versione x64 su una macchina con CPU a 64bit).
